How do I create an account?

Download Dinnect from the App Store or Google Play. You can sign up with your email, Apple ID, or Google account. You'll need to verify your email with a one-time code, then create your profile.

What age do I need to be?

You must be at least 18 years old to use Dinnect. Age verification is required during sign-up.

How do I edit my profile?

Go to your Profile tab and tap the settings icon. From there you can update your photo, bio, job title, education, skills, interests, languages, and professional status.

Can I make my profile private?

Yes. In Settings, you can switch your profile to private. Only your connections will be able to see your full profile details.

How do I change my email or password?

Go to Settings > About Account. From there you can update your email address or change your password.

Go to Settings > Delete Account. Your account enters a 30-day grace period where it's hidden but recoverable. After 30 days, all data is permanently deleted.

How does the Nearby feature work?

When you enable Nearby, Dinnect shows you professionals in your vicinity. You can see their profile, professional status, and connect with them. Location sharing is always opt-in and can be disabled anytime.

Is my location always being tracked?

No. Location tracking is off by default and requires your explicit opt-in. When you disable Nearby, your coordinates are immediately deleted from our servers.

How accurate is the proximity detection?

Dinnect uses GPS with accuracy radius reporting. In most urban environments, accuracy is within 10-50 meters.

How do I create an event?

Go to your Profile and tap the '+' button, then select 'Create Event.' Add your event details including title, description, venue, date, time, and invite friends.

Can I make events private?

Yes. When creating an event, you can set it as private. Only invited users will be able to see and join private events.

How do event invitations work?

Private event invitations appear in your Notifications. You can accept or decline from there. Public events can be joined directly from the Discover tab.

Moments is Dinnect's content feed where you can share photos and videos with the community. Posts are organized by categories like Startup, Tech & AI, Travel, Lifestyle, and more.

What are Stories?

Stories are temporary photo posts that disappear after 24 hours. They appear as rings around your profile photo. Other users can like your stories.

When posting, you select 1-3 categories. Your feed shows content from categories you're interested in, so you always see relevant posts.

Messages are encrypted in transit (TLS 1.2+) and only visible to conversation participants. End-to-end encryption is not yet implemented but is on our roadmap.

Yes. You can block any user from their profile or from a conversation. Blocked users cannot message you, see your profile, or find you in Nearby.

What is view-once media?

View-once lets you send a photo that can only be viewed once by the recipient. After they open it, the media is automatically deleted.

No. Dinnect does not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third party. We don't use advertising trackers or analytics cookies.

Where is my data stored?

Your data is stored on secure servers with AES-256 encryption. Passwords are bcrypt-hashed. Authentication tokens are stored in the iOS Keychain.

Tap the '...' menu on any post or profile and select 'Report.' Choose a reason and submit. Our team reviews all reports.
